Folder access

Share and select folders

Add folders on the computer that owns them, then choose them from the other device.

1. Add the folder on its owning computer

After pairing, open Devices → View device → Shared folders on the computer containing the folder. Choose Add folder, select the folder using the system picker and confirm. You cannot add a remote folder from the other computer; its shared-folder list is read-only.

2. Select it in a Sync Space

On the computer creating the task, select the owning computer in the source or destination selector. Choose the folder in Shared folder. Use Refresh folders if you just added it. Keep both apps running.

A folder shared this way is already authorized. Selecting it and creating the Sync Space does not require another approval before syncing starts. If you choose the option to select a folder on the other computer later, complete that separate folder request there.

3. Understand the permission

Sharing authorizes the trusted computer to use that folder for Sync Spaces. Depending on mode and rules, it can read, add, replace or remove files. Recovery and deletion safeguards still apply. Share only the specific folders you intend to synchronize.

Stop sharing

Use Stop sharing for a folder request or remove the shared folder from its owning computer when it should no longer be used. Removing access does not delete your folder. Review affected Sync Spaces before running them again.
