1. Who we are and what this covers
SyncKeeper is provided by Odeysoft Technology, registration 202203217573 (IP0575648-T), Malaysia. In this notice, “we” and “us” mean that business.
This notice covers the SyncKeeper website and the related purchase, trial, license, update, newsletter and support services. It distinguishes these services from the files you choose to synchronize between your computers.
2. Information we collect and where it comes from
- Contact: the name, email address, optional phone number, selected topic and message you submit, together with the request IP address and submission time.
- Newsletter: your name, email address, subscription or unsubscribe status, and related subscription records.
- Trial requests: your name, Gmail address, verification state, request IP address, request time, approval status and issued license details. A verification-code hash and temporary flow state are held in the website session; codes are not stored as readable passwords.
- Purchases: the buyer name, email address, selected plan, amount, payment status, payment or Checkout references, request IP address, issued license and relevant timestamps. Stripe supplies payment confirmation to us; card details are entered on Stripe’s hosted checkout, not in this website’s forms.
- License activation and verification: email address, license key, device identifier, device label, operating system, app version, and the software-agreement version, language and acceptance time.
- Technical requests: update checks include product and installed-version information. Our hosting and security services may also record IP addresses, request times, requested URLs and error or security events. Spam controls process verification tokens and rate-limit identifiers.
3. Your synchronized files
Selected file content transfers between the trusted computers you connect. This website and the license service are not a storage or relay service for your synchronized files. Folder configuration, task history and Recovery copies remain on the computers you use.
Activation and update requests do not require synchronized file contents. If you send screenshots, filenames, diagnostic reports or other material to support, we receive the information you choose to include. Remove sensitive content first, and do not send passwords, full card details or a full license key in a support message.
4. Why we use information and what is optional
We use information to respond to enquiries, verify email addresses, assess trial eligibility, process and confirm purchases, issue and verify licenses, deliver requested emails, provide updates, prevent abuse, resolve disputes and meet applicable legal obligations.
Newsletter messages require a separate subscription. A purchase, trial request or contact message does not automatically subscribe you. The contact phone field is optional. Other marked required fields are needed to perform the requested action; without them we may be unable to answer, issue a trial, fulfil a purchase or activate the app.
We process information with your consent where required, to fulfil your requests or purchase, and where otherwise permitted or required by applicable law. If we propose a materially different use, we will provide the notice and obtain any consent required before that use.
7. Processing outside Malaysia
Providers such as payment, email, hosting and security services may process information in countries outside Malaysia. Where information is transferred internationally, applicable requirements and appropriate safeguards must be observed. The provider notices linked above explain their processing arrangements.
8. Retention and security
We retain information for the purposes described here, including active license administration, support, fraud prevention, accounting, legal obligations and disputes. The period depends on the record and applicable requirements; this notice does not promise automatic deletion after a fixed number of days.
Unsubscribing stops newsletter delivery but may leave a suppression record to respect that choice. Temporary session data expires or is cleared by the application and hosting session lifecycle; it is separate from saved purchase, license and contact records. Uninstalling the app does not by itself delete those website records.
We use measures such as restricted service access, secure connections where configured, form tokens and abuse controls. No system or transmission is completely risk-free. Keep device access, pairing invitations and license credentials secure.
9. Your choices, requests and complaints
You may contact us to request access to or correction of your personal information, withdraw consent, limit processing, object to direct marketing, or ask about deletion. You may also request data portability where that right applies. Requests are assessed under applicable law, including relevant exceptions and identity verification.
You can unsubscribe using the newsletter unsubscribe link or ask us for help through Contact. Withdrawal does not undo processing already lawfully carried out; some records may need to be retained, and withdrawing information needed for a service may prevent us from continuing it.
Send privacy requests through the contact options below, in English or Bahasa Malaysia. Describe the request and use the relevant contact or purchase email where possible. Do not include sensitive documents until requested through an appropriate channel. You may raise a complaint with Malaysia’s Personal Data Protection Commissioner.
10. Children and information about other people
The purchase and license services are intended for people who can lawfully enter into the relevant agreement. Do not submit a child’s information or someone else’s private information without appropriate authority. Contact us if you believe information has been submitted improperly.
11. Changes to this notice
We may revise this notice when the services, processing or applicable requirements change. The review date identifies this version. Material changes will be brought to your attention where required; this notice is not a blanket consent to unrelated future uses.
