Install and activate SyncKeeper
Get started on Windows or Mac, then choose your language and appearance.
1. Install on your computer
Download the Windows installer or Mac disk image from the download section. Run the installer on Windows, or open the disk image and move SyncKeeper to Applications on Mac. Open SyncKeeper after installation.
If the installer needs a required runtime, follow its installation prompts. You do not need to install a development framework.
2. Read the agreement and activate
Read the license agreement, select the agreement checkbox and continue to activation. Enter the SyncKeeper license key from your purchase email. SyncKeeper keys start with SKP. Activation needs an internet connection.
If activation fails, check that you entered the complete key and that your license is valid. Never post your full license key in a public support message.
3. Choose your preferences
Select English, Simplified Chinese or Malay (Malaysia), and choose a light or dark appearance. Finish setup to open Home. SyncKeeper uses your computer’s current name; you can edit its display name in Settings.
Use a separate folder with a few test files for your first sync. Synchronization is not a substitute for an independent backup.
