Sync modes

Choose the right sync mode

Understand the four modes before connecting important folders.

One-way sync

Send source changes to the destination. Changes made only at the destination are not sent back to the source. Review the task’s deletion rule to understand whether source deletions are propagated.

Two-way sync

Reconcile changes from either folder. A manual Run from either computer checks both sides. Smart comparison and conflict protection help avoid silently losing independently modified files.

Real-time sync

Watch folders and sync changes automatically while the required computers and folders are available. Choose one-way or two-way behavior in the Real-time sync options. Two-way real-time sync can also be enabled for an existing two-way task.

Mirror sync

Keep the destination aligned with the source, including removing destination items that do not belong in the mirror. Destination-only changes are not sent back. Review the destination carefully before running.

Recovery can protect supported replacements and deletions, but a mirror is not an independent backup: an unwanted source change can also be mirrored.
